Tom Sterbens - Senior Pastor

Music has always been a major part of Pastor Tom's Life. He is an accomplished musician and has written and published many songs, recorded by artists such as Ron Kenoly, Don & Reba McGuire, Karen Wheaton, and Larry Ford.
Pastor Tom and his wife and ministry partner Brenda, have been married for 32 years. After serving in Fort Myers, Florida for sixteen years, they moved to Sevierville, Tennessee where he serves as Lead Pastor at New Hope Church. Although Pastor Tom is exceptionally talented in many ways, and has a great love for music, his primary passion is teaching and encountering the Word.

Brenda Sterbens - Associate Pastor
Brenda Sterbens partners with her husband Tom and serves as Executive Pastor at New Hope Church. Her responsibilities include Worship and Arts, with a focus on developing and empowering the gifts and talents of individuals in worship services as well as through major musical and dramatic presentations. She is also responsible for Administration, Mission21, Women's Ministry, Teaching, and Counseling.
Being a wife for 32 years, the mother of two married children and a granddaughter as well as a full time pastor, Brenda has a unique understanding and insight into the delicate balance of home and ministry. Her primary passion is to equip and empower individuals for ministry.

Don Mondell - Associate Pastor
Don Mondell serves as an Associate Pastor at New Hope with oversight and involvement in communications, media, marriage & individual counseling, teaching, and general pastoral/administrative ministries.
Don is passionate about helping people find their true worth and place in life according to what God has determined; he’s learned that people experience lasting fulfillment, joy, peace, and confidence when they are in the middle of God's plan for their lives.

Jim & January Beeler - Childrens Ministries Pastors
Jim & January Beeler serve as the Children’s Pastors of New Hope. Jim and January have been married for 16 years, have four children and have many years experience in ministry together. As a team they bring their ministry experiences of working in Children’s ministry, administrating a Christian school, directing a preschool and being the pastors of a church to fuel and fulfill the vision at New Hope for the Nursery, Preschool and Elementary ministries.
The Beeler's life is kids. Their personal mission in ministry is all about the little ones. They say, “Throughout our life, serving the Lord, we have been at our best when we are working with children”.
Devoted husband and wife and loving parents, Jim and January are committed to growing the leadership team for New Hope's children’s ministries to truly partner with parents with the purpose of training up this generation of children in the way they should go.
They say, “Our goal … is that your child experiences the love of Jesus, has a knowledge of The Word of God, knows the triumphant faith of the characters of the Bible and learn how to live out God’s promises to them...for a lifetime.”

Jolene Waitt - Executive Ministry Assistant
Jolene Waitt serves as Executive Ministry Assistant to Pastors Tom and Brenda Sterbens. Born and raised in Canada, Jolene moved to the States when she was 18, and has been actively serving in ministry ever since. She and her family came to New Hope in 2007, and jumped in with both feet. Married to her husband Alan for 20 years, they are the proud parents of 3 teenage children. Serving at New Hope is a family affair for the Waitts, with Alan, a lay sound tech for 22 years, serving Sunday mornings and at many of New Hope’s special events, and all 3 children highly active in serving in Children’s Ministries, Student Ministries , Youth Dance, Worship Band, and Youth Choir. Jolene is also passionate about graphic arts, print communications, and promotional art and media, and uses her gifts in various avenues at New Hope.

Christy May - Childrens Ministries Assistant
Christy May serves as Administrative Assistant to Pastors Jim and January Beeler. Children are her passion and she has been teaching and serving in Childrens Ministries for over 20 years. Her family moved to East TN from St. Cloud, FL in 2001 and began attending New Hope in 2005. She has been serving in Childrens Ministries at New Hope since August 2006. As a single mom of 3 teens, Christy is passionate about other single moms, as well as children and youth. Her children are actively involved in Childrens Ministries, Student Ministries, Dance/Drama, Youth Choir, Worship, and Childcare events.
